The battery pack can be plugged-in to any standard USB port. Your computer probably has USB ports that will work. The charger that came with your iOS device will also work if you remove the cord from the base. The battery can only charge when plugged-in the correct way; in most cases you should be able to insert it with the FiftyThree logo facing up.While plugged in and charging, you will see an orange light on the battery module. This light will change to green when Pencil is fully charged. Pencil can charge fully from empty in about 90 minutes. Slide the battery module fully back into Pencil when finished charging. Once Pencil has been fully charged and you've made sure your iOS device's Bluetooth is on, you should be able to connect it by pressing the tip for several seconds on the pairing icon on the left of Paper's tool tray. Sometimes, Pencil will not connect because the tip is seated wrong. The easiest way to correct this is to swap the tip with the extra tip included with Pencil. To swap out tips, pull out the battery module and twist the rubber end of Pencil counterclockwise. Make sure the new tip has been twisted into place before pushing the battery module and tip back into Pencil's body.
